Mr. Jefferson believes that the music industry systematically suppresses music that depicts African-Americans in a positive image - i.e. they continuously opt to promote songs that reflect a single negative "social" dimension of a multi-dimensional people. Diaspora Connections Inc. therefore was created to be a company that would produce both positively entertaining and educational music about African-Americans for all people. It is not unreasonable to say that ALL contemporary music in the western world borrows from the music of the African in Americas (the blues, the gospel/spirituals, jazz, reggae, calypso, or samba, et. al. - all of which are derivatives of the sounds of Africa).
