Bridging Musical Worlds (JAN) - a collaborative effort with the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra celebrating the life of Rev Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Celebrating Black History Through Music (FEB) - Director Tyrone Jefferson and
selected musicians visit public and private school students to present a historical perspective of the music industry's creative and business side.
Additionally in 2012, A Sign Of The Times of the Carolinas will partner with the
LATIBAH (Life And Times In Black American History) Collard Green Museum to
present "Diggin' History and Music" - an historical exploration into the contributions
and struggles of Africans and African Americans, as presented through spoken
word, music and dance.

The Annual Black History Concert (MAR) - purposefully presented in March of each year to emphasize the need to focus on Black History at times other than February. This is our main fund raising event.

June Is Black Music Month (New in June 2012) - A Sign Of The Times of the Carolinas will launch the webcast of its popular "The State Of Black Music" TV show.

The Carolina's Jazz Initiative (June - Sept) - a collaboration of jazz educators, jazz composers and professional musicians whose goal is to provide music teachers and students a functional understanding of jazz theory; and to apply the theory to jazz performance and compositions.

Family Walk and Health Fair (SEPT) - At the end of a 1-mile walk, musicians and supporters get their blood pressure and blood sugar checked; have an opportunity to get tested for Aids and receive information about nutrition, exercise and meditation.

Giving Thanks Concert (NOV) - Jazz Vespers at a local church. The 2009 concert was held at St. Paul Baptist Church.

Kwanzaa (DEC) - A celebration of the Nguzo Saba (The Seven Principles of Kwanzaa) in collaboration with other community organizations.
