‘A Sign of the Times of the Carolinas’  is a non-profit 501(C)-3 organization that raises the level of appreciation and support of music and the performing arts through educational workshops, programs and performances for the full community.

We are dedicated to improving the community through music productions and educational programs that positively reflect the rich musical heritage that is uniquely African American. From the djeli (griots) of West Africa to the poets of Harlem, from Louis Armstrong to James Brown; all ‘A Sign of the Times of the Carolinas’ programs transform the listener through high quality performances, workshops and recordings that synergistically “Preserves the Legacy” and “Creates New Music” that is steeped in the African American tradition.

We value the struggles of our ancestors, the tenacity of our people, the potential of our children and the beauty that exists in all people!
